Help us keep the Boulder area thriving. Support our public schools!

October 20, 2025

Dear Boulder Chamber Members,

There are a lot of reasons that people choose the Boulder area to live, raise their families and grow their businesses.

Among the most important are our:

Strong Educational
Institutions

We are incredibly lucky to both have the University of Colorado Boulder and the Boulder Valley School District. Both are national leaders, setting the standard for excellence in education and launching the careers of leaders in every industry, including space exploration. While CU boasts about its 20 astronauts, BVSD is proud to have set the trajectory of three, including Jessica Watkins (Fairview ‘06), Jack Fischer, (Centaurus ‘92) and Scott Carpenter (Boulder ‘43).

BVSD is the Place to Be

There is no question that many families are attracted to Boulder because of the outstanding reputation of the Boulder Valley School District.

Every year, BVSD is among the best ranked school districts in Colorado.

BVSD is the only school district in the Metro area to earn the Colorado Department of Education’s top ranking this year – Accredited with Distinction – and has done it back-to-back in 2024 and 2025.

Niche named BVSD the Best School District in Metro Denver and #2 statewide. Plus, we’ve got some of the best schools in the state. BVSD claimed the top spot at every level in Niche (elementary, middle and high school).

Finally, Three of BVSD’s high schools were in the top 20 in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2025 Best U.S. High Schools ranking.

The Boulder Chamber has been proud of its partnership with BVSD – as the school district has worked to accelerate students towards the college or career of their choice through expanded educational programming and a focus on ensuring that students leave high school with more than just a diploma through the Grad Plus framework – including college credits, work-based learning, industry certificates and the Seal of Biliteracy.

New Enrollment Priority for Boulder Valley Commuters

We are also excited to share that last year BVSD added a new category to our Open Enrollment preferences: an option for those who work within BVSD’s boundaries.

The goal is to encourage those who commute into our communities to enroll in our high quality schools and get some additional quality time with your kids along the way.

Last year, more than 260 students took advantage of this opportunity! Learn how those who commute into our communities can get a high quality education for their kids and some additional quality time with them on the Bright Futures Ahead website.

We Need Your Help

It is important that we do everything we can to support public education, so that it continues to thrive and prepare future workers and citizens.

Please considering supporting BVSD in the following ways:

  • Encourage your employees to enroll their students in BVSD. They can learn all about what BVSD has to offer at the BVSD is the Place to Be Showcase on Wednesday, October 22 from 5-8 p.m. More information is at bvsd.org/showcase
  • Post Bright Futures Ahead posters in your workspace, lunchroom or in staff newsletters and get out the word about BVSD’s new enrollment priority for those that commute.
  • Look for ways for your company to partner with our schools, by offering apprenticeships, guest speakers and other opportunities. Learn more on our Grad Plus website: bvsd.org/grad-plus and you can let us know your interest in participating through this form: https://www.bvsd.org/grad-plus-partner

We've created a digital kit to help make it as easy as possible to share this information.

Thanks for your support of our schools. They are a part of what makes our communities strong.
