Boulder Chamber Welcomes Joseph E. Hovancak as Its New Vice President of Economic Vitality

The Boulder Chamber is pleased to announce Joseph E. Hovancak has been selected as the new Vice President of Economic Vitality. An accomplished economic development executive and dedicated community champion, Hovancak's innovative economic vitality experience includes building vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems and strong inclusive economies for major metropolitan areas.

"The Boulder Chamber was fortunate to attract top talent for its Vice President of Economic Vitality role, but Joe stood out in his wealth of experience and proven track record in supporting business and economic success," said Boulder Chamber President and CEO John Tayer.
"Joe also brings an appreciation for the need to understand unique industry interests and develop solutions that address their greatest challenges while capitalizing on promising opportunities. Couple that with an infectious energy, and we know Joe will be a strong leader for the Boulder Chamber and our community's economic vitality efforts."

Joseph has a diverse business background, achieving success in sales for Fortune 100 Corporations, founding start-ups, and leading strategic plans for economic development organizations.

As the Executive Director at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance economic partnership, Hovancak spearheaded the Prosperity Partnership, an award-winning economic initiative addressing resiliency, racial equity, entrepreneurship, and economic mobility in Fort Lauderdale/Broward County. Earlier, in his role at the Miami-Dade Beacon Council economic development organization, he led the highly successful One Community One Goal initiative, fostering collaboration among thousands of leaders and achieving an 18% target industry job growth. With a robust background at AT&T, Joseph demonstrated leadership in various roles, including as a Sales Vice President overseeing a four-state, $150 million sales territory.

As the Deputy Executive Director at Nova Southeastern University's Levan Center of Innovation, Joseph implemented innovative strategies to enhance Broward County's entrepreneurial ecosystem. He made significant contributions and notably launched a community impact program supporting entrepreneurs in underserved areas, facilitating scalability, job creation, and an improved quality of life.

Joseph is actively engaged in professional communities, holding positions on notable boards such as the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Miami and Conventions Visitors Bureau. Additionally, he contributed to the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's small business committee and served as a co-chair for United Way Miami's Financial Stability Committee.
