Boulder Star
Over 70 Years of Tradition
2026 marks the 79th anniversary of the Boulder Star on Flagstaff Mountain. The beloved Boulder Star was first lit in December 1947 and has made its holiday appearance every year since.
The Boulder Chamber and the City of Boulder are the proud joint stewards of this community asset and are thankful for the support it receives through sales of the Boulder Star Card, Star Wine, and the generosity of other partners to keep the Boulder Star shining bright.

The 2026 Star Card design will be created by local artist Kelly Angelovic. Kelly’s work has been collected and featured on products sold all over the world. Before shifting her focus to fine art, she was filling the world with color and lettering through surface pattern design. A select listing of past client collaborations includes Penguin Random House, Papyrus, Hallmark, Scholastic, Windham Fabrics, American Greetings, Workman Publishing, Studio Oh!, Pier 1, Better Homes & Gardens, and Cost Plus World Market, to name a few.
Kelly also empowers fellow artists as a creativity coach.
A portion of the Star Card proceeds go towards the ongoing care of the Boulder Star.
